Creative Commons Media
Copyright
Copyright is used to stop others from copying creative works (like photos, music, stories) without permission.
In Australia, copyright protection is automatic. This means that as soon as you write a story or a poem, create a painting or take a photo, you own the copyright to it. The work does not need to be registered to be protected.
So, just because you can find it on the internet, doesn't mean it is free for you to use in your own assignment.
Watch this video by Nancy Minicozzi explaining the importance of Creative Commons(CC) media.
Sometimes the copyright owner has said that it can be used for free or has licensed the material under a Creative Commons (CC) licence. This allows you to use the work so long as you acknowledge where it came from.
Below are some sites to find CC material.
